Heated and Cooled Mattress automation
Home automation systems have become increasingly popular over the years,
offering homeowners an unprecedented level of control and convenience over
their homes. One of the most popular and versatile home automation systems
available today is Home Assistant. With its open-source architecture, Home
Assistant allows you to integrate a wide range of devices and services, from
smart thermostats and lights to door locks and security cameras, and automate
their functionality based on a wide range of conditions.
One such automation that stands out is the ability to turn off connected
devices when other sensors detect nothing. I designed a new automation to make
my bed more comfortable. By turning off the my sleepme system, when the bed is
clear during the day, I can minimize wear and tear on my system and save a
significant amount of energy and money.
What’s great about this automation is how easy it is to set up in Home
Assistant. With just a few lines of YAML code, you can create an automation
that turns off my sleepme when my withings in bed presence sensor is clear for
more than 5 minutes between 5 am and before 8 pm. Home Assistant allows you to
customize the automation further with conditions based on specific times,
dates, or even weather conditions, giving you even more control over your home.
With the ability to automate various systems and devices in your home, Home
Assistant can help you make your home more efficient, comfortable, and
convenient.
