My First Project

What’s my next Project

Last year, I created and maintained a Plex Media Server at home. This server indexes, sorts, cleans and displays all my media. I can sync with my phone, auto download and upload movies, media, TV, lectures. However, I needed a solution to take all the media I have on CDs, DVDs, automate the ripping and preservation process, as well as provide a physical way to both queue and insert media.

Firstly, I begun looking at options for Media Ripping and automation. I looked at the  Automatic Ripping Machine  project at Github (https://github.com/automatic-ripping-machine/automatic-ripping-machine).  I like the concept behind the project, but I would like to containerize it, as well as be able to pass through a GPU to improve the encoding time.

In addition, I think the addition of an automation system will allow this system to run more effectively. One great idea is to use these:

Vacuum handler

These vacuum handlers should allow an automated system to move a disk around. From there, some linear actuators, extra sensors and control systems will allow for larger volumes of disks to be digitized
